Who is the course for?

This course provides instruction in correct Lifting Operations for operators who will be using such machines on site.

It provides training as referred to in the laws relating to work equipment and health and safety, and is accredited by the Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) or National Plant Operators Registration Scheme (NPORS).

This course will give you foundation training and assessment in lifting with excavators safely and productively.

Course Content Includes:

You gain the lifting endorsement A59c / N100 on your CPCS / NPORS card on passing the technical test at the end.

  • Operate the machine to a minimum standard
  • Site the machine safely and efficiently
  • Understand the capabilities, purposes and limitations of each machine
  • Follow all necessary safety precautions
  • Interpret the information provided by load charts and lift plans
  • Understand which routine adjustments and safety checks are legally required with regard to lifting accessories, and know how to carry them out.

Completion of the course:

Candidates will take a verbal theory test, and complete a practical assessment.

Successful candidates will receive a 2 Year CPCS / NPORS Category A59c / N100 and a Trained Operator Card (red card) on passing the technical tests.

Operatives with more experience can add on the NVQ assessment at the same time to progress straight to the 5 Year CPCS or NPORS Blue Competent Operator card.

Prerequisites

You must have a basic understanding and knowledge of current Health & Safety issues.
